Have we been looking forward to this, or what\u2013 the opening of Inuuteq Storch\u2019s exhibition At Home We Belong! The exhibition is like a small retrospective, with four series \u2013 photography and video \u2013 that span Inuuteq Storch\u2019s entire career. Storch was born and lives in Sisimiut, Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland). In his work, he explores and documents everyday life in his homeland, in images that stand in contrast to stereotypical representations created by visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inuuteq Storch himself is unfortunately held up with other work, but this will still be an opening to remember. Artist Louise Najavaraq Fontain, born in Sisimiut and now residing in Hattfjelldal, will be joining us at Perspektivet. Fontain is concerned with belonging, language and reconciliation \u2013 highly relevant themes for the exhibition and today’s world situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition’s curators will be present for talks after the official opening by UiT Pro-Rector J\u00f8rgen Berge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the exhibition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition is a collaboration between Perspektivet Museum and the research project Urban Transformation in a Warming Arctic (UrbTrans<\/a>) at UiT Norges arktiske universitet<\/a>. UrbTrans is supported by Norges forskningsr\u00e5d<\/a> og Troms\u00f8 Forskningsstiftelse<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exhibition design is by Spine Studio<\/a> in close collaboration with the curators Marthe Tolnes Fjellestad, Mari Hildung and Hanne Hammer Stien. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to Ane Marte Ryeng (textiles), Jan Kleine (woodwork) and Ingunn Steiro (exhibition technique).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
