With Inuuteq Storch’s exhibition\u00a0At Home We Belong\u00a0<\/em>as a framework and as part of the program during V\u00e5rscenefest, we invite you to a curatorial tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inuuteq Storch (b. 1989, Kalaallit Nunaat) is in the eyes of many \u2013 ours included \u2013 one of the most exciting artists working with photography in the circumpolar north. Storch explores and documents everyday life in Kalaallit Nunaat\/Greenland with analog cameras he has received from friends and family. In his images, people, interiors, landscapes, animals and spiritual life are woven together. The colonization of Kalaallit Nunaat has led to both individuals and society carrying with them both traditional and Western culture and ways of being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inuuteq Storch’s photographs stand in stark contrast to the often stereotypical representations of his homeland. His work includes whaling, organ hymns, hip hop and tattoo art. Through the tour, we see how the artist experiments with different photographic expressions in his work with archival material, film, photography and photo books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information about the Event<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The tour is led by two of the exhibition’s curators, Marthe T. Fjellestad and Hanne Hammer Stien, and is a collaboration with V\u00e5rscenefest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour is in English<\/strong> and requires a regular admission ticket.<\/strong>

The theme of V\u00e5rscenefest 2026 <\/a>is indigenous peoples in an international perspective. The festival will be a meeting point between the audience and performers, and will provide space for us to reflect together on indigenous traditions, both from a historical perspective, in relation to our own times, and the way forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
