About the Workshop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In Kvitnesg\u00e5rden you will find both coffee, needles and thread. Embroidery takes some time, so feel free to join from the start and take in the whole workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Duration time<\/strong>: drop-in between 12-4PM Andjelov Al-Mahamid<\/strong> uses embroidery to create situations where people gather and embroider together with him. He calls these shared moments Social Sculptures, and participants are encouraged to reflect on what it means to have a home. Andjelov Al-Mahamid now has a collection of over 200 Social Sculptures. What is \u201chome\u201d for you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Marsil Andjelov Al-Mahamid (b. 1983, Serbia). His father is from Syria, while his mother is Serbian. By examining war memories and migration, he tries to understand how history has shaped different societies. Al-Mahamid works mainly with embroidery, video art and social sculptures. Since 2009, he has lived in Troms\u00f8, and he has a bachelor’s degree from the Troms\u00f8 Academy of Fine Arts from 2015. He has exhibited at the Artists’ Association (Oslo, 2022), Soft Gallery (Oslo, 2019), the National Museum in Kikinda (Serbia, 2019), “Generation Why” (Ris\u00f8r, 2023), the Central Museum of Textile (\u0141\u00f3d\u017a, 2023) and the “Hannah Ryggen Triennale” at the Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustri-Museum (Trondheim, 2022). Al-Mahamid has been awarded the Troms\u00f8 Municipality Cultural Scholarship (2018), the Horten Municipality Cultural Scholarship (2016) and the State’s three-year artist scholarship (2017, 2024)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Ice cream from the Stabburet kiosk, stilts, box throwing, boat building, exhibitions, tours and fun workshops and experiences throughout the summer. This is just some of what we serve to get you in the summer mood. Welcome to wonderful Sundays between 12 and 4 pm in the park!<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are open from 12:00 to 16:00 every Sunday between June 21 and August 23.
