We would like to invite you to the booklet release of Letters to Gaza at Perspektivet Museum in Tromsø on Thursday, December 5th at 18:00.
Twin-city agreement
In 2001, the small city of Tromsø, in the far north of Norway, established a twin-city agreement with Gaza City that blossomed into a vibrant cultural exchange. Through various projects in music, art, literature, theatre and film, youth from both cities have forged meaningful connections, shared their lives and cultures, forming connections across borders. Tvibit, a hub for youth, culture and creative activities has become the heart of this collaboration.
Call to action
In the fall of 2023, Tvibit set up a mailbox titled Letters for Gaza, where the youth of Tromsø could share thoughts, greetings and solidarity with their peers in Gaza. These letters from Tromsø to Gaza are not just words on paper; they are testaments to the enduring power of human connection and the unwavering spirit of youth and the transformative power of cultural exchange. It’s a call to action, urging us all to stand in solidarity to work towards justice. It’s also a reminder that even in the darkest times, the bonds of friendship and solidarity can offer solace and strength.
Some of these letters were transformed into a booklet designed and illustrated by Liv Ragnhild Kjellman and coordinated by Mari Andreasen and Mohamed Jabaly.
