Have we been looking forward to this, or what– the opening of Inuuteq Storch’s exhibition At Home We Belong! The exhibition is like a small retrospective, with four series – photography and video – that span Inuuteq Storch’s entire career. Storch was born and lives in Sisimiut, Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland). In his work, he explores and documents everyday life in his homeland, in images that stand in contrast to stereotypical representations created by visitors.

Inuuteq Storch himself is unfortunately held up with other work, but this will still be an opening to remember. Artist Louise Najavaraq Fontain, born in Sisimiut and now residing in Hattfjelldal, will be joining us at Perspektivet. Fontain is concerned with belonging, language and reconciliation – highly relevant themes for the exhibition and today’s world situation.

The exhibition’s curators will be present for talks after the official opening by UiT Pro-Rector Jørgen Berge.
