Storch & Birch in Conversation

We’re proud to host the launch of Inuuteq Storch’s latest book: Knight’s Hood Poems. Herem he’s turned graffiti and scribblings from the stairwells of Nuuk’s massive apartment complexes into a photo book that shouldn’t be missed.

Knight’s Hood Poems was designed in collaboration between Inuuteq Storch and the graphic designers Jacob Birch and Finn Wergel Dahlgren in Spine Studio, Copenhaven. It is published by Mondo Books, Tromsø.

Experience Storch and Birch in a conversation about collaboration, photo books and the meaning of Greenlandic photography today. Tanya Busse from Mondo Books will give a brief introduction and the conversation, taking place in Inuuteq Storch’s exhibition At Home We Belong, will be moderated by curator Hanne Hammer Stien.

About the Event

The event is a collaboration between Perspektivet Museum, UrbTrans (UiT) and Mondo Books with the generous support of NAPA.

The event is free and the conversation will be in English.

Inuuteq Storch

Photographer and artist born in Kalaallit Nuunat 1989. Lives and works in Sisimiut. Concurrent with the exhibition at Perspektivet Museum, Storch has solo shows at MoMA PS1, New York, and at the Hasselblad Center, Gothenburg.

Jacob Birch

Graphic designer, founder and co-owner of Spine Studio, Copenhagen. Birch works mainly with developing publications, visual identities and concepts.

Hanne Hammer Stien

Professor of Art History at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, responsible for educating artists at UMAK. Co-curator of At Home We Belong.
