On Friday, October 3rd, the research project UrbTrans – Urban Transformations in a Warming Arctic at UiT The Arctic University of Norway invites you to its final symposium. How are places and communities in the Arctic made – by whom and for whom? The symposium is organized at, and in collaboration with, Perspektivet Museum.

The symposium marks the conclusion of five years of work, where UrbTrans has investigated how colonial and decolonial practices and narratives shape urban development and society in Nuuk and across the Arctic. Through conversations between researchers, artists and knowledge holders, we explore how archives, stories, art and culture can contribute to understanding both historical experiences and contemporary transformations. The aim is to open inclusive discussions on colonial legacies, decolonial futures and how we can meet the many changes that characterise the Arctic today.
