  • Learn to mend a traditional Norwegian sock

    On Sunday, August 10th, Kvaløysletta Husflidslag will be coming to Folkeparken! They will be offering activities for young and old. There will be opportunities to felt your own seating mat, but they will also teach you how to mend your traditional Norwegian national costume socks or last with holes in them!

  • Graffiti workshop Buktafestival free program

    Due to our collaboration with Buktafestivalen, this week’s Sunday in Folkeparken has been moved to Saturday. Join our Graffiti-workshop!

    About the Graffiti Workshop

    Workshop holder André Enger Aas has extensive teaching and communication experience, and uses a wide variety of techniques in his artwork. Techniques used here are graffiti combined with stencils and freehand. 

    Saturday July 19th – drop in between. 12.00–15.00
    Where: Kvitnesgården, Kvaløyvegen 38.
    Ages: 6 and up

  • Embroidery with Marsil

    Join us for an embroidery workshop with artist Marsil Andjelov Al-Mahamid. We recommend setting aside time to stay throughout the workshop, as embroidery is a time-consuming activity.

    Embroider your «home»

    Andjelov Al-Mahamid utilizes embroidery to set the mood for a creative meeting place. He calls these shared moments ‘Social Sculptures’, and the participants are encouraged to reflect on the meaning of having a place called home. Andjelov Al-Mahamid currently has a collection of over 200 ‘Social Sculptures’.

    Embroidery with Marsil

    Sunday August 18th at 12.00–15.00, Kvitnesgården, Kvaløyvegen 38.
    Age: 10 and up

    Marsil Andjelov Al-Mahamid (born 1983, Serbia). His father is Syrian, his mother Serbian. By exploring war memories and migration he seeks to understand how history has shaped different communities. Al-Mahamid mainly works with embroidery, video art and social sculptures. 

    He has resided in Tromsø since 2009 and has a bachelor’s degree from Tromsø Academy of Arts from 2015. 

    Exhibition venues: Kunstnerforbundet (Oslo, 2022), Soft Gallery (Oslo, 2019), Nasjonalmuseet i Kikinda (Serbia, 2019), «Generation Why» (Risør, 2023), Central Museum of Textile (Łódź, 2023) og «Hannah Ryggen Triennale» at Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustri-Museum (Trondheim, 2022). Al-Mahamid is awarded Tromsø municipality culture grant (2018) og Horten municipality culture grant (2016).

  • Sunday with Music & Dance

    Folk-music- and folk-dance group BUL Tromsø will set the mood for a proper season closing party in Folkeparken. There will be two performances; at 12.15 and 13.00

    About BUL Tromsø

    Spellmannslaget i BUL Tromsø aim to preserve and carry on the folk music tradition in Northern Norway. The music will serve as a tool to create companionship and community. The music being played is mainly from the north of Norway and the North Calotte.

    Folkedanslaget aim to create a folk-dance community, alongside preserving and further developing Norwegian folk dance and music. We believe that the joy of dancing is the best foundation for both learning and socializing.

  • BUKTA Kick-off

    We are gearing up for Bukta festival this Sunday! In collaboration with music festival Buktas family programme and artist André Enger Aas we will be making festival decorations and graffiti.


    July 14th 2024 at 12.00–16.00

    In collaboration with Buktafestivalen

    This weekend you are invited to partake in a collaboration between Perspektivet Museum and music festival Bukta Open Air Festival. Together with artist Andre Enger Aas we are gearing up for the festival by making festival decorations and graffiti!

    About the workshop 

    Suitable for kids aged 6 and up. You will find the workshop by Kvitnesgården, Kvaløyvegen 38! 

    André has broad experience teaching and conveying art, with a variety of techniques. In this case he will make use of stencil and freehand graffiti. 

    Note! Due to the collaboration with the festival, we will change our opening day week 29 in Folkeparken from Sunday to Saturday 20th. This way you can experience both the festival family programme and the museum programme on the same day. And best of all; both are free!

  • BUKTA – Graffiti workshop

    In collaboration with music festival Buktas family programme and artist André Enger Aas, we are hosting a graffiti workshop Saturday July 20th.


    July 20th 2024 klokken 12.00–16.00

    In collaboration with Buktafestivalen

    This weekend you are invited to partake in a collaboration between Perspektivet Museum and music festival Bukta Open Air Festival. Together with artist Andre Enger Aas you can decorate the garbage containers for the festival with some awesome graffiti!
